May include stress reduction techniques, mindfulness exercises, physical activity suggestions, thought re-framing + positive self-talk training, etc.
A 200 year old medicine originating in Germany. Based on the principle that "like cures like", this gentle therapy uses diluted substances of mainly plant, animal, and mineral sources.
INTRAVENOUS (IV) NUTRIENT THERAPY
A generally safe and effective method of rapidly delivering higher doses of essential vitamins/minerals and nutrients directly into the bloodstream in order to bypass the digestive process and enhance absorption. An intravenous (IV) vitamin/mineral infusion typically contains a complex of B vitamins (including B5, B6, B12), vitamin C, magnesium, and calcium. "Bioidentical Hormones" refers to hormones that have an identical molecular structure to the hormones naturally produced in the body. They are synthetically derived from natural substances (either wild yam root or soybeans) and are compounded into a variety forms for use (i.e. capsules, creams, suppositories, etc.). Unlike traditional hormone replacement (hormones derived from animals or manufactured in a lab), bioidentical hormones fit our hormone receptors perfectly, and behave the same way as our natural hormones.
Licensed Naturopathic Physicians (NDs) practicing in BC, have the authority to prescribe a wide range of pharmaceutical medications. This provides NDs, as primary care physicians, the ability to appropriately manage patient medications, and prescribe in emergency situations or when deemed necessary for the patient. This also allows NDs access to a number of traditional medicines (that have become restricted for use without prescriptive authority), as well as compounded medications (i.e. bioidentical hormones).
